TRAFFIC
- Officers issued 18 traffic enforcement actions during the week.
PROPERTY CHECKS
- 164 business checks were made. 1 unsecured door was found.
- 2 extra patrols were requested by out-of-town property owners.
INCIDENTS OF INTEREST
- Animal Call (South Snow Geese Drive)
On January 3, 2025, a sick deer was located near the beach access on South Snow Geese Drive. The deer passed away the following morning. Personnel from the North Carolina Wildlife Commission responded and took possession of the deer.
- Open Door (Duck Road)
On January 3, 2025, an unsecured door was located at Red Sky Café. Officers conducted a building search and found no signs of forced entry or suspicious activity. An investigation revealed the door had been left unlocked by an employee. Officers secured the restaurant upon exit.
- Suspicious Vehicle (Duck Road )
On January 3, 2025, a suspicious vehicle was discovered in the parking lot of the Town Park after hours. Officers were able to locate the operator and passengers of the vehicle. They were informed that the park was closed and left without incident.
- Prowler (Jay Crest Road)
On January 5, 2025, around 11:00 PM, officers were dispatched to a prowler call at the listed address. Officers arrived and were unable to locate anyone. A few leads were uncovered, and the investigation is ongoing. Officers increased patrols in this area.
