- Officers issued 17 traffic enforcement actions during the week.
PROPERTY CHECKS
- 148 business checks were made. No unsecured doors were found.
- 2 extra patrols were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.
INCIDENTS OF INTEREST
- Assist Person (Duck Road)
On March 8, 2026, officers were dispatched to a subject who was lost. Officers provided directions and got the person safely back on the road.
- False Alarm (Duck Road)
On March 10, 2026, officers were dispatched to a business alarm. Upon arrival, officers determined the alarm was set off in error.
- Improperly Parked Vehicle (Sandy Ridge)
On March 10, 2026, a caller reported a vehicle parked in front of a posted no parking sign. Officers located the vehicle’s owner on the beach and requested the vehicle be moved.
- Assist Person (Duck Road)
On March 10, 2026, a caller reported he was stranded in Duck with a broken bicycle. An officer provided the subject with a ride back to his vehicle in Southern Shores.
- Improperly Parked Vehicle (Wood Duck Road)
On March 11, 2026, a caller reported a vehicle parked in a no parking zone. Officers located the vehicle’s owner and requested the vehicle be moved.
- Animal Call (Scarborough Lane Beach Access)
On March 13, 2026, officers were dispatched to a deceased porpoise on the beach. NOAA Marine Mammal Stranding Response was contacted and removed the porpoise.
- False Alarm (Duck Road)
On March 13, 2026, officers were dispatched to an alarm. Officers checked the business and found it to be secure with no signs of forced entry.
- Noise Disturbance (Marlin Drive)
On March 13, 2026, officers were dispatched to loud music coming from a residence. Officers made contact with the residents and asked them to turn the volume down and close the windows.
- False Alarm (1214 Duck Road)
On March 14, 2026, officers were dispatched to an alarm. Officers checked the business and found it to be secure with no signs of forced entry.
