The Town of Duck Police Department is seeking entry level police recruits, and experienced police officers holding North Carolina General Law Enforcement Certification or out-of-state law enforcement officers eligible for lateral transfer. Starting salary for entry level recruits is $52,322. The salary range for experienced officers is $52,322 – $85,154. The hiring range for experienced police officers is $63,000 – $70,000, and will be based on education, experience, certifications, and training.

Our team works 12-hour shifts (14 days per month) on a rotation that ensures you have a three-day weekend every other week! We offer state of the art equipment, high quality training, and an assigned take home vehicle to officers residing within 60 road miles of the south Town line.
Entry level recruits will be paid to attend Basic Law Enforcement Training. In addition, recruits will receive a daily stipend for travel and meal expenses while in training.
