Starting Tuesday, March 4, Fred Smith crews will begin repaving secondary streets in Carolina Dunes and Dianne Street. This work is an overlay paving project with no milling required. The project is expected to take about a week, with completion anticipated by March 10 or 11, depending on weather conditions. Roads included in the repaving are:
- Dianne Street
- Buffell Head Road
- Old Squaw Drive
- Sprigtail Drive
- Canvasback Drive
- Wood Duck Drive
- Pintail Drive
- Widgeon Drive
- NC Highway 12 from Barrier Island Station (1245 Duck Road) to the Currituck County line in Corolla
Once the secondary streets are finished, crews will return to Corolla to complete a separate project before coming back to begin work on NC-12 on March 17. This phase will include milling tie-ins to adjacent streets as part of the repaving process.
