Shoreline Stabilization Project Underway

This week, the Town of Duck is taking significant steps to protect its future with the initiation of the Shoreline Stabilization Project along the Currituck Sound. The project aims to reduce erosion, safeguard public facilities, and preserve vital coastal wetlands by installing near-shore wooden sills and a stone revetment.

The project contractor, D & B Bulkheads, has officially mobilized and construction has begun. We kindly ask that visitors exercise caution when visiting the Town Park, as construction materials and equipment are currently staged in the north parking lot.

We are committed to keeping the community informed throughout the course of this project, and will continue to share updates and important notices. Your patience and support are greatly appreciated as we work to ensure Duck remains resilient and beautiful for generations to come.
