Town Council Meeting Recap | December 4

Below is a summary of items from the December 4, 2024 Town Council Meeting:

  • Council approved the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget calendar
  • Council adopted Resolution 24-16, honoring and thanking Fire Chief Donna Black for her service to the Town of Duck
  • Council adopted Resolution 24-17, authorizing the execution and delivery of an installment financing contract
  • Council adopted Resolution 24-18, opposing Senate Bill 382 regarding zoning authority of local governments
  • Fire Chief Donna Black introduced the Town’s newest Deputy Fire Chief, Matthew Dudek
  • Addison Vlastnik, an intern for the Town and UNC Chapel Hill OBXFA Environmental and Urban Studies & Planning Student, gave a presentation on the development of a living shoreline monitoring plan for the NC Resiliency project as well as what she learned as an intern with the Town
  • Jonathan Dail of Johnson, Mizelle, Straub and Consolvo gave a presentation on the Town’s Fiscal Year 2023-2024 audit. Council subsequently adopted the audit as presented.
  • Council adopted their 2025 meeting date calendar and rescheduled the regular January meeting from Wednesday, January 1 to Wednesday, January 8
  • Council sent Ordinance 24-06, an ordinance amending four sections of the Town Code to allow amusement arcades back to the Planning Board for further review
  • Council scheduled a public hearing on Ordinance 24-07, an ordinance correcting references in sections of the Town Code regarding outdoor lighting and special use permit procedures, for their January 8, 2025 meeting.
  • The next meeting will be the Regular Meeting on Wednesday, January 8 at 1:00pm
