The Duck Police Department is excited to announce that the Town of Duck will host its first National Night Out on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Duck Town Park, located at 1200 Duck Road.
National Night Out, established in 1984, is an annual campaign that aims to strengthen relationships between residents and law enforcement while creating a sense of unity within the community.
“This event is about bringing people together and building trust,” Detective John Gilreath said. “We’re excited to begin this tradition in Duck and give the community a chance to meet officers from the police and fire department that serve them.”
Thanks to the support from Towne Bank, the inaugural event will feature a variety of family- friendly activities including a live Taser demonstration led by Duck police officers, a virtual- reality Taser experience, games, live music, and complimentary food provided by Coastal Cravings. The Duck Fire Department will also be on site with Engine 11, providing attendees with an opportunity to explore the firetruck and meet members from the Duck Fire Department.
Attendees can also speak directly with Duck police officers, ask questions, and learn more about day- to- day operations including the Community Watch initiative to boost awareness efforts and encourage residents to support crime prevention. Information will also be available about how homeowners and businesses can register security cameras to assist in investigations when incidents occur.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit https://ducknc.gov/public-safety/duckpd/national-night-out/
