TRAFFIC
- Officers issued 17 traffic enforcement actions during the week.
PROPERTY CHECKS
- 138 business checks were made. 1 unsecured door was found.
- 1 extra patrol was requested by an out-of-town property owner this week.
INCIDENTS OF INTEREST
- Intoxicated Male (Duck Road)
On April 27, 2025, officers observed an intoxicated male walking along Duck Road early in the morning. The male advised that he did not need EMS and said he was waiting on a taxi. Officers stood by until the taxi arrived and picked the male up.
- Animal Call (Sound Sea Avenue)
On April 29, 2025, officers were dispatched to the above listed location after a lost dog was found. The dog was returned to its owner.
- Civil Dispute (Duck Road)
On April 29, 2025, officers took a report for a stolen laptop computer. Upon further investigation, officers learned that the reporting party gave the laptop to the reported suspect. After speaking to both parties, officers were able to negotiate the return of the laptop computer.
- Larceny (Sound Sea Avenue)
On April 29, 2025, officers were dispatched to the above listed location in reference to a stolen trash can. The caller advised that they saw someone take their trash can on their security camera. Officers located the trash can at a neighboring home. When the reporting party was advised, they gave permission for the neighbor to use the trash can.
- Trespassing (Quarterdeck Drive)
On April 30, 2025, officers were dispatched to the above listed location in reference to a report of an unauthorized person being at the residence. Officers found the residence to be vacant upon arrival. Neighbors advised they haven’t seen anyone at the residence. The caller, who was out of town, was advised.
- Fraud (Duck Road)
On May 1, 2025, officers took a report for a rental car scam. Officers met with a couple who obtained a phone number for Enterprise Rent-A-Car from Google. Unbeknownst to them, the phone number they used was fraudulent and led them to a scammer. The caller provided his credit card information to the scammer. The couple detected the scam when a fraudulent confirmation e-mail was received. Officers notified the couple’s bank of the fraudulent transaction.
- Brush Fire (Duck Road)
On May 3, 2025, officers were dispatched to the above listed location in reference to a small fire on the side of the road. Officers arrived and observed that the fire had already been extinguished.
- Escort (Duck Road)
On May 3, 2025, officers were dispatched to the above listed location in reference to a male that had been at the business for an extended period of time. The worker advised that she was closing up and did not feel comfortable walking to her car. Officers stood by while the worker closed and exited the business safely.
- Suspicious Person (Sandy Ridge Road)
On May 3,2025, officers were dispatched to the above listed location in reference to a suspicious male on the property possibly casing the residence. Officers arrived and located a male that worked for Dominion Power at the neighbor’s house matching the description. Everything was determined to be okay.
