TRAFFIC

  • Officers issued 15 traffic enforcement actions during the week. 

PROPERTY CHECKS

  • 132 business checks were made. No unsecured doors were found.
  • 11 extra patrols were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.      

INCIDENTS OF INTEREST

  • Trespassing (Dianne Street)

On December 10, 2024, officers received a call for a trespassing in progress at the above address. The caller advised that they could see a subject walking around the residence taking pictures of the home. The caller also stated that no one was supposed to be at the residence at the time. Officers arrived on scene and did not locate anyone in the area matching the suspect’s description. The residence was also checked and all doors and windows were secure.

Using ALPR data and video surveillance footage, the suspect’s vehicle was identified and later located in the parking lot of a realty company. It was determined that the employee had been at the house performing a security check earlier in the day.

  • Talk with an Officer (Duck Road)

On December 11, 2024, officers received a phone call from an inmate who is currently incarcerated at the Norfolk City Jail. The subject advised Duck officers that he knew of an individual who possesses a large quantity of drugs, stolen guns, and other stolen items. Officers learned that the caller has an extensive history of making similar false allegations to law enforcement agencies. It was determined that the information provided was not credible. 

  • Trespassing (Puffer Court)

On December 12, 2024, officers responded to the above address in reference to a trespassing call. The caller advised that he could see the subject on his security cameras. Officers arrived on scene and did not locate anyone in the area. The doors and windows were secure at the residence.

  • Assist Person (Sea Colony Drive)

On December 14, 2024, officers were dispatched to the above address in reference to a civil dispute. The caller advised that he recently had to lay off one of his workers and the worker left behind personal tools. The caller felt uncomfortable doing anything with the subject’s tools, therefore he was seeking advice from law enforcement on how to proceed. Officers intervened to arrange for the return of the tools.
