TRAFFIC
- Officers issued 28 traffic enforcement actions during the week.
PROPERTY CHECKS
- 177 business checks were made. 2 unsecured doors were found.
- 2 extra patrols were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.
INCIDENTS OF INTEREST
- Animal Call (Duck Road / Georgetown Sands)
On February 10, 2026, officers were dispatched to the report of a pelican utilizing the multi-use path. The waterfowl was located and observed. No obvious injuries were detected. It seems our new friend was enjoying the warmer street side of our community for the day.
- Intrusion/Burglary Alarm (Duck Road)
On February 10, 2026, officers were dispatched to an alarm at the above address. Upon arrival, there were no signs of forced entry but the business was unsecured. The interior was checked and the business was secured by the officers upon exit.
- 911 Abandoned Call (Martin Lane)
On February 11, 2026, officers were dispatched to a 911 abandoned call. Upon arrival, it was determined the call resulted from an ongoing issue with the phone line and everything was okay.

On February 11, 2026, officers were dispatched to a 911 abandoned call. Upon arrival, it was determined the call resulted from an ongoing issue with the phone line and everything was okay.
- Arrest (Duck Road)
On February 12, 2026, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle. The driver, 36-year-old Avery Travoy Thomas, of Manteo, NC, was taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant for failure to appear. Thomas was held in the Dare County Detention Center in lieu of a $250 secured bond.
- Suspicious Vehicle (Mallard Court)
On February 12, 2026, officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle parked on Mallard Court. Upon further investigation, the driver was located and identified as a utility worker.
- Intrusion/Burglary Alarm (Duck Road)
On February 13, 2026, officers were dispatched to an alarm at the above address. Upon arrival, there were no signs of forced entry and the business was secure. It was determined to be a false activation.
