TRAFFIC

  • Officers issued 18 traffic enforcement actions during the week. 

PROPERTY CHECKS

  • 194 business checks were made. No unsecured doors were found.
  • 2 extra patrols were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.      

INCIDENTS OF INTEREST

  • 911 Hang-Up (127 Cook Drive)

During the week, officers were dispatched to numerous abandoned 911 call at this unoccupied residence. Officers determined the calls were generated by a fault in the phone line.  The issue was reported to Brightspeed due to the volume of calls from the address.

  • 911 Hang-Up (Station Bay Drive)

On March 27, 2026, officers were dispatched to an abandoned 911 call at this unoccupied residence. Officers determined the call was generated by a fault in the phone line.

  • Larceny (Duck Road)

On March 27, 2026, officers from the Southern Shores Police Department stopped a wanted vehicle out of Currituck County for shoplifting. Duck Officers responded to the stop and recovered items stolen from two Duck businesses. The stolen items were returned to both businesses, who declined to press charges.

  • Intrusion Alarm (Duck Road)

On March 28, 2026, officers were dispatched to a business alarm. Officers found the business to be secure with no signs of attempted forced entry. The keyholder was unable to respond.
