TRAFFIC
- Officers issued 24 traffic enforcement actions during the week.
PROPERTY CHECKS
- 118 business checks were made. No unsecured doors were found.
- 2 extra patrols were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.
- 180 off season property checks were completed.
INCIDENTS OF INTEREST
- Assist Person (Duck Road / Canvasback Drive)
On March 23, 2025, officers and the fire department were dispatched to a bicycle crash. The initial caller was unsure if the cyclist was hit by a vehicle. The investigation found the cyclist was not struck by anything and simply crashed.
- Fire (South Snow Geese Drive)
On March 26, 2025, officers responded to a possible structure fire. The fire was found to be contained in the HVAC unit and was quickly extinguished. No further property damage or injuries were reported.
- Animal Call (Beach between Barrier Island and Plover Drive)
Six separate calls were received between March 28, 2025, and March 29, 2025, for a seal that was seen on the beach. Biologists were found to be monitoring the seal. No human intervention was recommended by the biologists and everyone was asked to give the seal space to rest.
- Civil Dispute (Tides Drive)
On March 28, 2025, officers responded to a report of utility crews installing utility lines on a private street. An investigation found workers were maintaining current infrastructure and installing new lines. A work order was confirmed with the company and the workers right to access utility infrastructure was also confirmed.
- Noise Disturbance (Bayberry Drive)
On the evening of March 28, 2025, officers received a report of loud music coming from a residence. The occupants of the home were notified of the noise ordinance, and the music was turned off for the night.
TRAFFIC CRASHES
- Duck Road
On March 28, 2025, a vehicle was backing up from a parking spot at a business as another car was pulling off Duck Road to park at the business. The vehicles collided at a nominal speed.
