TRAFFIC
- Officers issued 31 traffic enforcement actions during the week.
PROPERTY CHECKS
- 109 business checks were made. No unsecured doors were found.
- 3 extra patrols were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.
INCIDENTS OF INTEREST
- Assist Motorist (Duck Road and North Snow Geese Drive)
On March 30, 2025, officers were dispatched to a disabled vehicle on the side of the road with a flat tire. Officers arrived and helped the occupants change the tire.
- Suspicious Person (Duck Road)
On April 2, 2025, officers were dispatched to the above listed location in reference to an elderly male sitting in the bank for a long period of time. Officers arrived and made contact with the male who advised he was waiting on a person to cash a check for him.
- Damage to Property (Magnolia Court)
On April 3, 2025, officers were dispatched to the above listed location after the homeowner found their HVAC unit had been disconnected and sitting on the ground. The investigating officer believes an HVAC company responded to the wrong house, began the removal process in preparation to replace the unit, and left when it was discovered the company was at the wrong house. There were no signs of aggressive removal that would lead the investigating officer to believe there was an attempt to steal the unit.
- Assist Another Agency (South Dogwood Trail)
On April 4, 2025, Duck officers assisted Southern Shores officers in reference to a suspicious male on a property advising that he had a gun. The subject was found to have dementia and was returned to his residence safely.
- Suspicious Condition (Blue Heron Lane)
On April 4, 2025, officers were dispatched to the above listed location in reference to an intrusion alarm activation. Officers arrived and found a contractor working on scene.
