TRAFFIC

  • Officers issued 17 traffic enforcement actions during the week. 

PROPERTY CHECKS

  • 116 business checks were made. No unsecured doors were found.
  • 12 extra patrols were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.      

INCIDENTS OF INTEREST

  • Careless and Reckless Driving (Christopher Drive)

On November 26, 2024, officers were dispatched to the above listed location to locate two suspect vehicles reported driving recklessly in Southern Shores. Officers located the vehicles and addressed the complaint.

  • Suspicious Condition (Spindrift Court)

On November 27, 2024, officers were dispatched to the above listed location in reference to a suspicious male walking around the residence looking in windows.  Officers arrived and contacted the male, who was winterizing the residence.

  • Suspicious Vehicle (Plover Drive)

On the night of November 27, 2024, officers located a vehicle that was parked in front of an unoccupied residence. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area and nothing else appeared out of place in the immediate vicinity.

  • Town Code Violation (Duck Road and Cook Drive)

On November 28, 2024, officers observed a golf cart riding on the multi-use pathway. Officers stopped the golf cart, and the rules and regulations of golf carts were explained to the operator. 

  • Suspected Trespassing (West Charles Jenkins Lane)

On November 28, 2024, officers were dispatched to the above listed location in reference to the homeowner seeing someone on surveillance camera possibly tampering with the camera.  Officers arrived and found the culprit to be a bug walking across the security camera lens.  No signs of criminal activity were present.  The homeowner was advised of the outcome.

TRAFFIC CRASHES

  • Duck Road and Blue Heron Lane

On November 27, 2024, a vehicle traveling north on Duck Road struck a deer running across the roadway.
