Due to inclement weather, the Town of Duck Administrative Offices are closed on Wednesday, January 22nd.
While we are closed, Public Safety is on duty. For emergencies, dial 911. For non-emergencies, please reach out to Dare County Central Communications at 252-473-3444.
We anticipate reopening on Thursday, January 23rd at 9 a.m. if conditions permit.
Road conditions are currently extremely dangerous due to ice and snow. The roads are slick, making travel unsafe for drivers and pedestrians alike.
For your safety and the safety of others, avoid traveling and stay off the roads. If you must drive, remember: ice and snow, take it slow:
- Check your tire pressure
- Clear the snow and ice from your vehicle
- Slow down
- Increase following distance between other vehicles
- Avoid sudden movements; take it easy on the gas and don’t slam on the brakes
- Do not use cruise control
- Be courteous to other drives. Be smart. Be safe!
Driving in snow and ice is not just risky for you—it also impacts public safety efforts across our community. Stay home if you can and let road crews do their work. Your cooperation makes a difference!
Stay safe, stay warm!
