Rotating Art Show

“Summer on the Outer Banks” is the next exhibit in the 2026 Rotating Art Show series. The small group show will feature works in oil, acrylic, and mixed media by local artists Tammy Goodrich, Liz McBain, and Brent Nultemeier. The exhibit will be on display in the first floor conference room of the Town Hall and open from 9:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) July 31 – November 4, 2026.
A free opening reception for the exhibit will be held on Wednesday, August 5 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Come meet the artists and talk to them about their work.
Tammy Goodrich is a self taught artist born and raised in Wakefield, Virginia, where she enjoyed a deep connection to agriculture and the inherent beauty of the rural landscape. She began her art practice at age 55 after raising a family and a career in retail and mail order sales. In 2012, she took her first oil painting workshop and discovered her passion for oil painting. Following retirement in 2017, Tammy and her husband relocated to Kitty Hawk and she began weekly classes and a mentorship with local artist Brad Price. She has furthered her education with online art instruction and traveling to workshops here and abroad. In 2023, Tammy became a juried artist at Dare Arts in Manteo NC and was honored to have a solo exhibit in 2024. She enjoys painting flowers, the ocean, and landscapes in oils.
Born and raised in Raleigh, NC, Liz McBain is an artist, curator, and entrepreneur whose work is rooted in a lifelong love of creating.
After studying at the Savannah College of Art and Design and North Carolina State University, Liz established herself as both an artist and advocate for American craftsmanship. Liz is the founder and curator of The Duck Gallery, and co-owner of Tar Heel Trading Company, an American handcraft gallery, alongside her husband, Jamie. Today, she works across multiple mediums, creating original paintings, drawings, and her handcrafted jewelry line, Riley James. Her work is inspired by the coastal beauty of the Outer Banks and the connections made in this community between the sound and the sea.
Brent Nultemeier’s creative journey began in a home filled with music and art, raised by professional musicians who fostered an early appreciation for the arts. His formal path into visual communication started in grade school and led to a degree in Communication Arts and Design from Virginia Commonwealth University. After building a successful career as an Art Director for several design agencies, Brent founded his own commercial art business and relocated to the Outer Banks of North Carolina in 2005. Deeply inspired by his life long passion of surfing and by the landscape around him, Brent channels his love for the coast into his diverse creative endeavors, blending fine art, design, and functional craftsmanship.
