BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT OPENING

The Town of Duck is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the Board of Adjustment.

The Board of Adjustment is a “quasi-judicial” administrative body that interprets and applies the Town of Duck Code of Ordinances who hear and decide appeals from any administrative official charged with enforcing the Code of Ordinances as well as hearing variance requests.

Please note that as part of the application process, individuals will be required to attend the March 5, 2025 Town Council meeting to introduce themselves, explain their association with Duck, as well as why they want to be appointed to the Board of Adjustment.  Please note that applications are considered a public record (name, address, telephone number(s), email address(es), etc.) and will be posted as part of the Council agenda packet unless you contact the Town Clerk to have information redacted from the application.

To be considered for either vacancy, please complete this form and return it to the Town Clerk. The deadline to submit an application is Monday, February 24, 2025, by 5:00 p.m.


General Information

The Zoning Board of Adjustment is a “quasi-judicial” administrative body appointed by Town Council to interpret and apply the Town of Duck Code of Ordinances. This Board will hear and decide appeals from any administrative official charged with enforcing the Town of Duck Code of Ordinances; they will also hear special exception and variance requests as allowed by in the Town of Duck Code of Ordinances. This Board meets on an “as needed” basis.
