TRAFFIC

• Officers issued 25 traffic enforcement actions during the week.

• Officers issued 1 e-Bike enforcement action during the week.

• Officers issued 3 golf cart enforcement actions during the week.

PROPERTY CHECKS

• 135 business checks were made. No unsecured doors were found.

• Noextra patrols were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.

INCIDENTS OF INTEREST    

• Larceny (West Charles Jenkins Lane and Duck Road)

On July 20, 2026, officers responded to a report of a street sign stolen. The sign was quickly located as it was still attached to the pole. The suspects were given the opportunity to return the sign and followed the officer’s advice by putting it back.

• Missing Juvenile (Fawn Court and West Tuckahoe Drive)

On July 20, 2026, officers responded to a report of a missing special needs juvenile. The juvenile was located nearby, safe and sound.

• Dispute and Welfare Check (Gifford Circle)

On July 20 and July 21, 2026, officers responded to a dispute involving a long-term couple where one party recently had an alcohol abuse relapse. While they were attempting to separate, tensions were running high and the police were summoned to keep the peace.

TRAFFIC CRASHES

• Duck Road at Trinitie Drive

On July 19, 2026, a vehicle was attempting to turn south from Trinitie Drive and struck a pedestrian that was in the crosswalk. The victim was transported to the hospital by Dare County EMS.

• Duck Road and Plover Drive

On July 23, 2026, northbound traffic was heavy and two northbound vehicles collided. Minor damage was reported.

• Duck Road and Plover Drive

On July 23, 2026, one minute after officers cleared the previous Plover Drive crash, two other motorists apparently wanted to meet the Duck Police Department. Northbound traffic remained heavy, and two northbound vehicles collided. Minor damage was reported.
