TRAFFIC 

  • Officers issued 32 traffic enforcement actions during the week.

  • 150 business checks were made.  

INCIDENTS OF INTEREST  

  • Trespassing (Brandon Court) 

On December 5, 2022, officers responded to the report of a neighbor trespassing at this location.  The neighbor was formally trespassed from the property.   

  • Suspicious Item (Beachfront at Olde Duck Road) 

On December 11, 2022, a beachgoer contacted police after coming across a suspicious item with the word “Danger” on it.  Upon arrival, officers determined the item was buoy warning of a buried cable.  Officers asked the staff at the US Army Corps of Engineers Research Facility to help determine the buoys’ origin. 

  • Failure to Do Work (Pintail Drive) 

On December 10, 2022, the homeowner at this location contacted police after a contractor she paid to work on her home failed to do the work.  Officers obtained a misdemeanor warrant for 57-year-old Matthew Peelish of Virginia Beach, Virginia.  Pelish was charged with failing to do work after being paid.
