TRAFFIC

• Officers issued 31 traffic enforcement actions during the week.

• Officers issued no e-Bike enforcement actions during the week.

• Officers issued 3 golf cart enforcement actions during the week.

PROPERTY CHECKS

• 151 business checks were made. 1 unsecured door was found.

• Noextra patrols were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.

INCIDENTS OF INTEREST    

• Trespassing (Ocean Way)

On July 26, 2026, officers responded to a report of unauthorized vehicles parked at a residence. They located the vehicle owners, who stated they were construction workers assigned to the home but were not working that day. Instead, they parked in the driveway while visiting the beach. Officers advised the homeowner of their findings.

• Trespassing (Station Bay Drive)

On July 26, 2026, officers responded to a report a male trespassing under a residence. An investigation revealed the subject was a contracted employee rolling trash cans to and from the street on trash days.

• Larceny Old Squaw Drive)

On July 27, 2026, officers responded to a report of alcohol that was stolen from the back deck of a residence. Officers arrived and used the tried-and-true method of looking for evidence about the area. It did not take long to notice shoe impressions leading to and from an adjacent residence. Officers contacted the occupants of the nearby home and found an under 21-year-old with a karma induced hangover. The parents of the plastered pilferer were apologetic and worked out a deal with the victim.

• Injury to Property (West Charles Jenkins Lane)

On July 28, 2026, officers responded to a report of items thrown into a pool and some missing rubber ducks from their vehicle. After officers took the report, the original caller updated officers with suspect information. The caller’s own children were the culprits, and no further investigation was requested by the victim.

• Indecent Exposure (Ocean Pines)

On July 28, 2026, officers responded to the area at the request of a lifeguard. The lifeguard explained that a male standing in front of the lifeguard stand exposed himself to the lifeguard. The subject left the area and was not identified.

• Larceny (Spindrift Lane)

On July 30, 2026, officers took a report for larceny of beach equipment. A customer notified a beach equipment delivery vendor that equipment was not at their rental home upon arrival. The vendor stated there was a 30-minute window between delivery and when the customer arrived. No one in the vicinity observed anything out of the ordinary.

TRAFFIC CRASHES

• Duck Road

On July 28, 2026, a bicyclist reported that he collided with the side of a vehicle after it made a right turn in front of him. The cyclist was not injured and exchanged information with the driver at the scene. The incident was reported to law enforcement more than three hours after it occurred.

• Duck Road

On July 29, 2026, a vehicle backing from a gas pump struck a vehicle waiting to park. No apparent injuries.
